Introduction:

Teaching Artist who loves science!

Hi! I'm Aasia. I’m a freelance Teaching Artist who’s been working in the field of Arts Education for 10 years. I’ve taught everything from Dance to Theater to Environmental Science. Communicating with people has been the key component of my success as a teacher and as an artist. For example, my time as a facilitator at the world-renowned Museum of Science and Industry required that I communicate with people from all over the globe daily. Working with students from various backgrounds has trained me to communicate with each student as an individual to maximize their unique potential. Conversationally, I’ll be very helpful engaging with students who are looking to develop their linguistic skills and talk about anything from recent scientific developments to the latest episode of Master Chef Jr. I’m also a huge fan of pop culture and when I’m not teaching classes, I perform all over the country as a comedian, musician, and actor.

Teaching Specialty:

Everyday English › Situational Conversation

I teach improvisation at University of Chicago, so improvising a situational conversation is not only something I'm comfortable with, but something I teach.

Everyday English › Slang

As an avid participant in popular culture, I'm very aware of modern slang and internet vernacular. I also listen to a lot a pop and rap music.

Everyday English › Free Conversation

I'm a comedian, I can talk to anyone for as long as you need!
