소개:
I specialise in increasing your confidence and skill with the English language.
Hi, I'm Charlie! I'm an English native speaker that was born in the UK, but moved to Canada for more adventure.
I love teaching! My main profession in the UK was a diagnostic radiographer, and as a part of my role I had to teach students. I found it very enriching and decided to take the I to I TEFL course, so I could teach more in my spare time!
Whilst on holiday in Cape Verde, I volunteered my teaching skills at a local charity and taught children between the ages of 8 and 13. We had a great time and I learnt how to adapt to a class with different skill levels.
Since moving to Canada in 2016, I have been privately tutoring adults English face to face. I always enjoy speaking with people from different places, and value different opinions and stories.
Since tutoring/teaching I have learnt a lot more about the English language than I thought I would! Whenever a student asks me a question that I am not sure I can answer, I treat it as an exciting challenge! I research and aim to increase my understanding to a level in which I can teach it properly.
I am very flexible when it comes to my lesson, because my students are the most important things to me. I will focus on your needs, and help you along your way.
Let's work hard and have fun together getting your English where you want it to be!
Teaching Specialty:
I also cover slang and idioms with everyday English. I try to make every lesson include at least one idiom the theme, and tie in the grammatical structures with situations surrounding that theme.
I generally structure my lessons so that it is situational. I cover shopping, describing movies/theatre, travelling, eating food, and getting to know someone. I am very flexible and cover topics/situations that my students wish to learn.
I also cover medical professional terms, as I am a qualified diagnostic radiographer.
I am happy to discuss current events, and to practice conversational skills with students of all levels. I adjust the speed of my speech accordingly for each student, and aim to increase their vocabulary, and understanding throughout our chats.
My course covered a vast array of tenses and sentence structures including but not excluded to: past simple, past perfect, present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and past continuous. I also cover conditionals, and more difficult subjects such as the use of though, only, superlatives and comparatives.
Due to my I to I TEFL certificate I am able to cover all basic skills with regards to teaching English.

Other Professional
After completing my BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, I proceeded to get a job as a radiographer. I worked at Stevenage hospital north of London, England for two and a half years, and then St George's Hospital London for 6 months before moving to Canada. As a radiographer I was responsible for looking after patients while imaging them with x-rays responsibly. As a part of my role I trained junior students anatomy, radiation safety, and most importantly patient care. I really enjoyed my interactions with patients, students, and colleagues and always find different views and conversation enriching.
Teaching Professional
When I moved to Canada, I began to tutor students face to face. After completing my training course earlier that year I felt like I was taking my first step on to my new career path. I love my students! Together we figure out a plan, and find out things that we can improve together along the way. I believe that I have honed my skills as a teacher, and increased my students satisfaction with each lesson! I have been very lucky, and I am very grateful to my students, and I look forward to teaching some more!
