Hello!

I’m Robyn. I am a native British-English speaker, who previously studied Politics and Spanish at university. I am about to begin my masters in Latin American Studies in Oxford University, and as a part time job I teach English. I am a 120 hour TEFL qualified teacher with 1.5 years experience teaching students from all over the world.

I began to teach for two reasons: first, I love learning languages myself. I speak Spanish fluently and Portuguese and German at an intermediate level; second, in terms of a job, I absolutely love teaching! It’s a chance not just for my to teach my students, but also for my students to teach me. I particularly love teaching students with a diverse range of interests, for example, I’ve taught people in business, medicine, accounting, marketing, students and the professional arts, to name a few.

In terms of my lesson plans, I organise classes around your interests and your needs. My classes are mainly conversation based. However, if I notice that there is a certain grammar point that is maybe a bit difficult for you, we would cover it then and there so that you learn grammar in context. I also get a lot of requests for pronunciation practice which I am happy to help with!

I really try to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible. I think the key to learning any language is motivation and enthusiasm, so that is what I focus on during my classes. My conversations are based on your interests and needs. Generally, I will begin by asking what are your goals and this will be the foundation of the lesson.
I also only teach students high-intermediate/advanced.
