Teacher Richard Mahon's Page

Hi, my name is Richard and I come from Yorkshire in the north of England. I have over 20 years experience in voluntary teaching and I have been specifically working as an online English teacher since 2018, therefore I have taught students of all ages and abilities from all over the world.

I love to travel and have visited 15 different countries and have lived in the UK, Spain, Honduras, Australia, and I now currently live in Costa Rica. Because three of these are Spanish speaking countries, I also understand what it is like to be a language learner - it can be difficult but also extremely rewarding!

I am a naturally energetic person and I really enjoy exercising. I either run or do a HIIT workout with my wife every day I love being outside, as my hobbies walking, hiking up mountains, swimming in the ocean and playing all types of sports. When you come to one of my lessons, you will find that I bring this energy to my lessons so that they are fun, positive, and engaging.

I want to make my students feel comfortable and relaxed very quickly, as I feel this is the best environment to learn a language. So whether you want to improve in your daily conversation skills, your reading, your pronunciation, or your grammar, I will help you to gain the confidence you need to reach your goals.
