I teach all aspects of the English language to teenagers, adults, and children.
Hello! I am a certified English teacher from the United States. I have an International Diploma in English Language Teaching, and Bachelor's Degrees in Foreign Language and Global Missions, with a focus in TESOL.
I have months of experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language, as well as experience in tutoring in several subjects: English, Spanish, Music, and Elementary level subjects.
I am excited about helping you learn English, or simply help you improve your fluency, pronunciation, language skills, or vocabulary. I can also help you prepare for a test or just give you temporary help for a specific area of English. I can also give insight into cultural aspects of English speakers from the United States, such as idioms, slang, and common lexical chunks.
I am especially prepared to teach English to native Spanish speakers. Personally, I am at an advanced level of Spanish myself, so I understand more of the cultural and language backgrounds of my Spanish-speaking students.
Teaching Specialty:
When teaching children, I try to incorporate as many educational games and fun activities as I can. This not only keeps the attention-span of the kids longer, but also helps them gain more of the language they are exposed to.
Writing is a skill that is rarely taught anymore. Regardless, it is a skill that is vital to improve upon.
I introduce vocabulary for specific situations, like what is needed at the airport or while registering a child for an event.
Intermediate students are my favorite level to teach. However, I am also interested in teaching elementary and advanced levels.
I help teach and practice with my students the broad spectrum of language they need for everyday use.
I incorporate useful phrases, called "lexical chunks", into my teaching. These phrases are grouped into different categories for different situations or environments, showing what kind of lexical chunk is appropriate for each environment.
My aim is that my students will achieve the level of pronunciation that they desire. At the least, my goal is to provide them with the tools they need to be understood when speaking English.
I will teach and practice grammar using games, role-play, and information-gap activities.
I can teach the basics of all areas of English: grammar, conversation, pronunciation, speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
I can help with practicing everyday conversational English, primarily listening and participating in real conversations. I will also correct errors I hear.

I have been a wife and homemaker for over a year, employing the skill of creating an atmosphere of comfort and ease. This skill is important for setting my students at ease and making them comfortable to converse and practice English with me.
Teaching Professional
I was living and studying in Guatemala for several months. During that time, I volunteered with a local language school's community projects. This involved tutoring the native guides in the English language. These guides would be instructing groups of tourists in several aspects of the school's projects. I also co-taught English to classes of local adult employees for three local businesses.

In the short months I worked as a server at this restaurant, I was singled out as a excellent example of professionalism and good customer service. In my tutoring, I also present myself as a professional, yet engaging teacher.
