ESL Teacher
Hello!
My name is Phoebe and it would be a pleasure to teach you English. I am currently pursuing a BA in English at University of San Diego. I am TEFL certified and I have experience teaching ages four to sixty. I have background in music, art, and theatre; thus, I am very creative in my teaching methods and I excel in conveying ideas to my students. For me, teaching English is a privilege as English has become the lingua franca of the world. I believe that bilingualism is essential, especially given the growing roles that nationalism and xenophobia are playing in international affairs. Fostering communication across cultures is of the utmost importance to me.
My philosophy is that my students control what they learn. If you are interested in traveling, I will teach you travel vocabulary and functional phrases in order to visit English-speaking countries. If you are artistically inclined, I will teach you artistic vocabulary and American art history. If you enjoy reading, I can recommend some reading ressources. Essentially, I am here to accommodate the needs of my students.
