Effective Date: December 20th, 2018

At SkimaTalk ("we", “the Site” or "the Company"), we care deeply about privacy, and we want to make your experience with our website safe and enjoyable. This Privacy Policy relates to information you provide to us or that we learn from your use of our website and outlines how we may collect, use, and in some cases share this information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and related service, which we here collectively call the “Service.” We may periodically update this Privacy Policy by posting a new version on the Site. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by posting a notice on the Site or sending an email prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date will be subject to the new Privacy Policy.

Data collected or received

In the course of providing the Service, we collect or receive your personal information in a few different ways. Often, you choose what information to provide, but sometimes we require certain information for you to use and for us to provide you the Service.

Data you provide us:

If you choose to register, you will be asked to provide your name, email address, Skype ID, and time zone.

You may provide your name and other personal information (such as birthday, gender, location, ID, profile photo) and billing and payment information (such as credit card information, PayPal ID) in connection with your account and activity. You can edit or remove this information through your account settings.

Data we collect automatically:

We automatically receive and record information from your browser or your mobile device when you visit the Site or use the Service, such as your IP address or unique device identifier, cookies and data about which pages you visit in order to allow us to operate and provide the Service. This information is stored in log files and is collected automatically. We may combine this information from your browser or your mobile device with other information that we or our partners collect about you, including across devices. This information is used to prevent fraud and to keep the Service secure, to analyze and understand how the Service works for members and visitors, and to provide advertising, including across your devices, and a more personalized experience for members and visitors.

We may also automatically collect device-specific information when you access or use our Service. This information may include information such as the hardware model, operating system information, browser information, IP address, location information, and device identifiers. This information is used to improve, customize or promote the Service, for example, for the Company’s internal analytics and performance monitoring, localization, and marketing (using non-precise location information).

We also collect certain information from both members and non-members who visit the Site. This information may include your IP address or unique device identifier, and cookies and data from the pages you visit.

Data we collect from our partners:

Some members or visitors may choose to connect to SkimaTalk or register a SkimaTalk account using an external third-party application, such as Facebook. We may receive information from those connected third-party applications. Connecting your SkimaTalk account to third-party applications or services is optional. If you choose to connect your account to a third-party application, we may receive information from that application. We may also collect public information in order to connect with you. We may use that information as part of providing the Service to you.

Other companies and public authorities: In order to combat fraud and illegal activity, we may exchange data with other companies and organizations and provide it to public authorities in response to lawful requests. We may also disclose your data based on your consent, to comply with the law or to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our users or others.

If we process your information based on our legitimate interests as explained above, or in the public interest, you can object to this processing in certain circumstances. In such cases, we will cease processing your information unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue processing or where it is needed for legal reasons. Where we use your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you can object using the unsubscribe link in such communications or changing your account settings.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide and personalize the Service, analyze use, target advertisements and prevent fraud. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Service may then not function properly.
