Providing Global Advantages by Teaching English to Non-native English speakers
Hello everybody. My name is Amelia and I currently work as a packaging engineer for Weber, the BBQ grill manufacturer. I have been working for Weber for five years helping to develop packaging for our grill products so they ship safely to customers around the world. During this time, I have gained a tremendous amount of global business experience. A big part of my job is to communicate technical concepts to non-native English speakers. I have worked with people from North America, Europe, and Asia. Together we have successfully launched hundreds of new grill-related products to market.
In addition to my work experience, I recently became TEFL-certified and I have been teaching English in the evenings to adult learners from my local community, here in the Chicago area. I teach both in a classroom and offer private tutoring. I am excited to expand into the online world, because I feel it is my mission to help people from different countries learn English. Once the world knows English, business transactions will go smoother and people will become better connected. English is one of the most widely used languages in the world and those who know it have major advantages.
If you sign up with me I will do my best to help you gain these advantages. My passion is travel and I love meeting people from different countries and learning about their cultures. I also enjoy rock climbing, riding my motorcycle, dancing, and I am even trying to learn German so I know how challenging a foreign language can be. I look forward to meeting you and learning about your hobbies. I feel that by teaching English, I will not only be helping my students but also enriching myself by interacting with fascinating people from around the world, people like you, people who want to learn.
Please contact me if you are interested! If you sign up with me, together we can have a rewarding and fun experience. I look forward to working with you.
I currently work as a packaging engineer for a global company. It is my job to develop packaging for our products so they ship safely to customers around the world. My duties include selecting appropriate materials, calculating freight costs, conducting testing, writing reports, analyzing data, managing specifications, and much more. I am an expert in analytical thinking and would be happy to pass my knowledge onto you in this area.
As part of my TEFL certification class, I completed additional course work on techniques for teaching Business Professionals. Additionally, I have several years of practical experience as a business professional myself. In my current position, I have collaborated with non-native English speakers (with varying levels of fluency) from North America, Europe, and Asia. Together we have successfully brought hundreds of products to market.
I can help you expand your vocabulary both organically through conversational practice as well as through the use of textbooks and other materials.
I have extensive experience working with an advanced learner from Czech Republic to help him reduce his accent and sound more like a native English speaker.
Proper pronunciation is key to being understood, and I emphasize its importance throughout all my lessons.
My TEFL certification course has prepared me well for teaching you how to improve both your productive (speaking and writing) language skills as well as your receptive (listening and reading) language skills.
