Introduction:
Friendly American teacher helping students all over the world!
Hello! My name is Austin and I’m from Ohio in the USA. I’ve been traveling around the world teaching English since 2011. Since then I have done a lot of traveling around Asia and Europe and seen some amazing places! Right now, I’m living in Madrid, Spain teaching English. There are so many fun and interesting things to do in Spain. Before Spain I lived in China teaching adult students and business people. Some of my most memorable trips in Asia have been seeing Angkor Wat in Cambodia, trying fresh sushi in Osaka and then taking a cooking class in Kyoto, Japan, and spending days on the beaches in southern Thailand.
I graduated from Kent State University in Ohio with a degree in Spanish. I think it’s really important to speak another language, so I’m glad that I’m able to help other people do what I did! I think the best way to learn a language is to practice speaking with other people. In my classes we can talk about what your goals are with English and make a plan for you to achieve those goals. Some of my students want to improve their English for business or interviews in English. Other students want to travel more and want to practice conversation. Together we can find the best way for you to improve!
Teaching Specialty:
Through my minor in theater studies I went through voice and pronunciation training, as well as studying phonetics for my TEFL course and also for my major in Spanish language and literature.
I taught the IELTS course at Wall Street English academy in China created in collaboration with Pearson Education.
I have help prepare professionals seeking to pass B2-C2 levels in all four areas of the test.
I have taught business English through Harvard Management Mentor courses, business English courses at businesses in Madrid, Spain, and also private business tutoring.
I have more than 10 years experience teaching general English to students of all ages and levels.
