Introduction:

Hello! My name is Braelyn, but most of my students call me “Lyn” because it’s easier to pronounce and easier to remember.

I have over nine years of experience working with international students of all ages - adults and children. My past and current students have described my sessions as “fun and easy to understand,” I am confident that you too will enjoy your sessions with me.

SkimaTalk allows me the opportunity to use my education and background. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia with a Major in French and a Major in Spanish and I am currently completing my TESOL certificate - Teaching English as a Second Language. I speak, read, and write in English with a native proficiency. In addition, like you, I have pursued learning a second and third language as well and I am now, what we call in English, a trilingual - someone who can communicate in three different languages. Because of my personal experience and training in second language acquisition, I know first hand the difficulties that arise when learning a new language. In addition to relating to your language goals, I will also help you design an academic plan to achieve your desired success.

With these experiences, I have become very comfortable in communicating with people from different cultures, and anticipating and addressing their specific needs. I am flexible and have the ability to adapt to change in a professional, but fluid manner. In addition, I have developed excellent computer and organizational skills, have strong research skills, and use an extensive array of professional reference materials.

I am patient, positive, organized, punctual, and have the ability to anticipate a student’s needs and questions. I have a very flexible schedule and hope to have an ongoing working relationship with my students. However, if you need just one or two sessions, that’s not a problem either!

I have enjoyed working with many students from all areas of the world and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting on Skype and working with you soon!

My interests include Traveling, Learning About Other Cultures, Cooking, Fashion, Self-Improvement, Gastronomy, Beauty, Culture and my new puppy “Pippa”.
