Introduction:

I help students by improving their fluency and cultural understanding

I can help you get comfortable talking about what is meaningful to you.

We can meet and have a conversation and then work on making your English sound more natural. If you would like, we can use images, articles or do some acting to be more creative. We will try to recreate the circumstances that you will use English in, and soon you will feel confident having that conversation in real life.

...and on days you don't feel like studying something useful, we can just chat about nothing. I will be there to support and encourage you. We will work at a speed that is comfortable for you.

I am a TEFL certified teacher and taught ESL students at a university in Chengdu, China for several years. I've helped many different kinds of people through one-on-one tutoring, including university students and professors with their research thesis and articles, tour guides with their tours and many others.

If you have any questions about me or my classes please contact me. I look forward to meeting you!

Teaching Specialty:

Everyday English › Situational Conversation

If a student knows WHY they want to learn English, it is then easy to figure out WHEN they will use it. Situational conversations help students build confidence for when they need it the most. Getting comfortable with a few situational conversations related to a specific goal makes the student confident that they can achieve that goal.

Methods & Tools › Role-play

I believe that role-play is a great tool, especially when working online. Using realia like maps, business contracts and shopping websites helps make the role-play real and keeps the conversation sounding natural and varied.

Everyday English › Intermediate

I taught students at a university in China for several years and they were mostly B1 and B2 students, many of my one-on-one tutoring students were as well. This is a great time to start improving conversation skills and using tools like role-play.
