Introduction:

I assist with all aspects in improving conversation (e.g. pronunciation, sentence structure, etc.)

Hello everyone!😀

My name is Ernest and I am excited to help you learn English!🇬🇧

I am an encouraging teacher and have worked with students, who are small children to adults. Through my language exchanges, I have helped people from different nationalities🇨🇺🇨🇳🇬🇷🇱🇮🇱🇹 learn English 🇬🇧. Therefore, I am able to work with students of different ages and backgrounds.

I know how hard it is to learn a new language. I have previously studied Spanish 🇪🇸and am currently learning French 🇫🇷. Therefore, I aim to create an encouraging environment and I encourage you to speak. I want you to feel comfortable to make mistakes. Making mistakes and learning from them is the best way to learn. Therefore, I will correct your mistakes and you will become fluent in no time!

I also like to focus on the student's needs. Each student is unique and have certain things he/she would like to improve on. Therefore, we will work on what you would like to work on.

Credentials: I am an American trained lawyer💼 and, as a part of my profession, I have to speak publicly and write 📝at a high level. I have a JD (standard law degree) and LL.M (a specialized law degree) from The American University in Washington, D.C. For my undergraduate degree, I have a BA in History with a minor in Economics.

I was born and raised in the United States🇺🇸 so I speak with a standard American accent. I have taught English online for a company and, while learning Spanish 🇪🇸and French🇫🇷, I have had language exchanges where I have had to teach English.🇬🇧

About me ➡️ I love to exercise! 🚴‍♂️ it is one of my favorite hobbies. I lift weights 🏋🏿‍♀️ 3-4 times a week. Also, I like to run. 🏃 it is a great way to stay in shape and to feel better. I also love ❤️ to read 📖. I typically read about economics and history.

It is my goal to work at your pace, work on the areas that you feel that you need to improve on and make our sessions as fun as possible. If you would like, I can introduce books📖, magazines, TV shows, music 🎵 , etc. that native English speaker use in order to make English learning more enjoyable. If you enjoy using native English materials, you will learn a lot faster, while having fun.

Also, as a language learner, I know the difficulties involved so I can share advice on how to improve. Please contact me and I am happy to help you learn English.🤗

Teaching Specialty:

English Basics › Vocabulary / Useful Phrases

Perhaps you do not need to attain native level fluency but you would like to be able to interact with English speakers while going to an English speaking country perhaps. I can assist you with useful phrases in various situations. We can incorporate role playing or you can ask me general questions.

Everyday English › Free Conversation

Many of the students I have worked with in the past wanted to be able to talk freely about subjects that interested them. During our free conversation sessions, you may talk about whatever interests you or, if you would like, I would select topics we could talk about. I will focus on proper pronunciation, correct sentence structure and natural word choice.

Writing › General

As a lawyer trained at an American law school, specifically American University Law School located in Washington, D.C., I have had to write English at a high level. I assisted foreign students that attended the university with their writing and I would be able to assist you.
