Hello my name is Jacinta.

I am a native English speaker born in the UK, but I grew up overseas in India and Uganda before I moved to the US for university.

I recently graduated from Swarthmore College where I majored in Honors Economics and Political Science, and I am currently playing semi-professional football in Spain.

I have over 170 hours of tutoring experience and I am here to help if you are looking to improve your conversational English. I can provide guidance specifically for the British-English accent as I am from Kent, just outside of London.

I have worked as a research assistant at the University of Oxford and as a journalist for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis reporting so I can also help you strengthen your business or academic English.

I have four years of experience in journalism, working as an editor and writer, so I am also happy to help you work on grammar, reading and writing if these are skills you want to improve.

In my lessons I seek to create a comfortable and engaging environment. Our sessions together will follow the structure that best suits your learning style. It can be a relaxed conversational environment, or I can come with a prepared lesson plan.

As I grew up overseas, I really enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures and I’m always ready to talk football, and sports in general, if we share those interests (Manchester United fans you are especially welcome :)
