Introduction:
I create a comfortable environment for my students to achieve their personal goals.
Hello, my name is Jenna and I'm from Wisconsin, USA. I am currently living and working in Medellín, Colombia as an English tutor and a tour guide. Through learning Spanish as my second language, I personally understand the challenges as well as the joys that come along with it. Learning a second language is not an easy task, but I am excited to work alongside you as you experience the ups and downs on your own learning journey! I have tutoring experience with both children and adults, and my classes are adjusted to each unique student and their needs. I have ample knowledge of pronunciation (in English and Spanish) and language development, all at a competitive price! If I sound like a good fit for you, please do not hesitate to book a trial lesson with me. We can discuss your personal language objectives, the most effective learning modalities for you, and how I can help you achieve your goals.
Teaching Specialty:
I pride myself on having a very patient and empathetic approach to teaching English, which makes me a great communication partner. If you would like to practice speaking day-to-day English with a native speaker, I can help you!
Because I am a younger teacher who is present on the internet, I am always up to date on the current slang being used. These include words and phrases that you likely will not find in a dictionary, but are still very important for day-to-day conversations with native speakers.
My background in Speech and Language as well as my TEFL certificate have given me the skills and resources to teach the many facets of English grammar.
I have experience working with adults who aim to improve their English skills to broaden their job opportunities or to be able to better communicate in the job they currently have.
Thanks to my background in Speech and Language, I have the knowledge and ability to identify the speech sounds (or phonemes) within both English and Spanish. This allows me to instruct students on the specific tongue and mouth placements required to create sounds in English.
