Hello, I'm Kamila. I'm originally from Canada but I currently live in Taiwan.
I am a TEFL Certified English Teacher with 5 years experience teaching English to children and adults of all levels. I specialize in business English, Academic English, conversational English, and spelling, and grammar.
I started my teaching career in Vietnam where I taught children ages 5 - 18 and adults levels Beginner to Upper Intermediate. I have spent the past two years teaching English to professionals in Taiwan, working at a diverse range of companies such as the Taiwan Stock Exchange and Yahoo. I also have experience in IELTS and TOEIC training so we can work together to get the score you're aiming for!
My main priority as a teacher is to create a comfortable atmosphere in which you feel confident speaking. I can help you with conversation, small talk, presentations, public speaking. I can also assist you with grammar, pronunciation, and listening comprehension.
I am very easy to talk to and good at finding common ground with my students, so don't worry if you don't know what to talk about.
I have many interests and hobbies. I like to read books, do yoga, watch movies and TV shows, and learn about different cultures.
I studied International Relations in university and closely follow current world events. I'm a very curious person so I have many more interests that I'd love to talk to you about. I truly enjoy sharing experiences and stories with my students.

Sometimes when students learn from books, their English can sound unnatural and robotic. I can help your English sound more natural by giving you vocabulary and phrases used by native speakers.
There are certain tricky sounds in English that can seem nearly impossible to say. I have many strategies can help you figure them out.
Intermediate is a tricky level because you have enough language to speak on a variety of topics but you sometimes hit a wall when it comes to using more advanced grammar and vocabulary. Unfortunately, this is a level where a lot of students lose interest because they don't see the results they want. I will use a variety of materials to help you expand your English knowledge and exercises to motivate you to keep learning.
I know how difficult the IELTS exam can be, especially the speaking portion. We can work together to get the grade you need.
Free Conversation can be structured around specific topics or vocabulary or it can be more open, meaning we can start talking and see where the conversation takes us.
