Introduction:
I teach general English, conversation and business English with a special focus on pronunciation.
I began teaching English in 2004 while I was living in Thailand. I lived in Bangkok from 2000 to 2016 and on my arrival back in the UK I took up online English teaching as a career and I've never looked back. Online teaching allows me to do what I love and that is to socialise with people from all backgrounds and all nationalities.
I'm now into my fifties but I don't let this stop me from looking good, so I lift weights at my local gym 5 days a week. I also love mountain biking, around the countryside of my native county of Yorkshire, here in the Uk. I'm also very keen on painting and drawing and love to talk about art with my students.
At the weekend I love to go shopping with my daughters or meet friends and relax in one of the many traditional Yorkshire countryside pubs but pray for the day when my daughters are old enough so I can resume travelling throughout my favourite place to travel, South East Asia.
Teaching Specialty:
I have worked in both sales and consulting environments and teach from experience as well as using materials developed from well known business English books.
I love to teach phonics. I have been teaching phonics and pronunciation for the best of 12 years and know the phonemic chart like the back of my hand!You will learn by example and fun activities to help you remember.
It's always great to meet students who love to chat because so do I but don't worry I'm also a big listener, unless it's about football! I'm only joking, you can tell me why you love it and I can tell you why I don't. Just talk to me like I'm your friend. and I'm sure we will get along great.
Whether it be travelling or in a shop, I can teach students English for all everyday situations. With over 12 years experience in teaching English conversation I have lesson plans for most situations.
I teach general English for every day conversation giving students the building blocks they need to move onto learning English for everyday situations using resources acquired over 12 years of teaching as well as PowerPoint.

During my time as one of the longest serving teachers at ECC Thailand I taught at several of Thailand's more distinguished government schools teaching all different age groups from Kindergarten to High School. As well as teaching at schools I also taught Medical English at King Bhumipol's Siriraj Hospital as well as Military English at the Royal Thai Army headquarters and numerous corporate classes at many different companies across Thailand. I also taught English courses at the Thai Ministry of Education, teaching permanent secretaries and the Teacher's council of Thailand.
