Hi everyone! My name is Megan or you call me Megs for short.
I was in London in the UK, but from a young age I had a deep urge to travel the world. I have now been away from home for five years! As I explore I like to settle down in places for a long time to really get to know the place, culture and people. From Bangladesh to New Zealand, to now living in the Philippines for over a year and making a home and business here.
As I have moved around I have had to learn the local languages in some places. From this experience, I know how hard learning a foreign language can be. This makes me a very patient, supportive and encouraging teacher!
I have seen how learning the English language has improved livelihoods and actually changed lives, I have no doubt it can have a similar impact for you. I feel very passionate and grateful to teach you my language.
For the past year I have been volunteering in a local school here in the Philippines, teaching English to Children from age 4 - 12. It has been a wonderful experience, however I know my passion is in teaching English to adults. Whether it is learning the absolute basics or improving business language and communication skills. I have worked with adults in the past prepare for interviews, write CV's, learn formal English and also basic communication skills.
I previously managed a successful hostel and hotel where I worked with many locals who were trying to improve their English. We had one-on-one English lessons tailored to their levels to help them grow.
I love to live a healthy and active life, my hobbies include dancing, cooking, yoga swimming etc! Movement makes me feel great. I am keen to learn about everything but especially about people and their cultures - I can't wait to know more about you!

Teaching Specialty:
Lets prepare for your exam together! I have helped numerous students practice for IELTS speaking exam and know how the exam process goes. We can break the lesson into three parts (like the exam!) and I can also time you speaking if you are ready for it. I will help you become confident in yourself so that you can succeed in the exam and in everyday conversation.
Lets learn how to write appropriately for our outcome, for example writing an email, letters, a proposal, a CV etc. On the other hand I can also help you to learn how to write descriptively for yourself or a poem, story etc.
let's practice our business language together! We can pretend we are in a business meeting, interview, on a business call etc! I will help you understand what is formal and appropriate language to use.
I will help you sound more natural as you speak English. Instead of only using what we've learned in books and online, I will help you feel more confident with casual conversations so you can sound more native.
