Introduction:

I specialize in understanding the specific needs of the student, and helping them reach their goals.

Hi, my name is Michael. I am from Canada and my native language is English. I have been an English teacher for over 23 years, in 5 different countries. I have lots of experience teaching students of all ages and levels. From phonics classes, to deep philosophical conversation classes, and everything in between. I have been working on improving my teaching by using different styles from differing countries, and schools as the need arises for specific students. I really enjoy conversation classes, but feel equally comfortable giving grammar, writing, speaking, listening, and reading lessons. Let me know your personal English goals, and let's talk about a specific plan to help you meet them as quickly as possible. Whether you are looking for lessons which require note-taking, or fun and light conversations, or anything in between... look no further. I want to make this trip personalized for your particular style, and am very focused on this goal. Let's do this!

Teaching Specialty:

Business Skills & Knowledge › Analytical Skills / Logical Thinking

My TESOL specialization is in teaching Business English, and I have loved logic and analytical thinking for a very long time. Let's look at examples, find the weaknesses in models, and follow rational patterns to increase reliability in our plans. Specialized lessons, texts, and even popular media can be used to examine these patterns. These are important skills for business, and life in general.

Everyday English › Advanced

Having taught English for more than 23 years in 5 countries, I am very confident in my ability to clearly explain difficult concepts in all areas of English. If you want to improve your speaking, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, listening skills, or all of these, personalized lessons and/or following proven textbooks is a great way to meet your English goals.

Everyday English › Free Conversation

Conversation classes are a great way for students to increase their fluency, vocabulary, and confidence. From small talk to deeper philosophical conversations and everything in between, communication is fostered through interesting topics. I commonly use a large list of topics which are tailored to English level.
