Hello! My name is Monika, and I am an American English Teacher living in Japan.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, as well as a TEFL certification. I have been teaching English conversation (to both kids and adults) within Japan since 2022. During this time, I have received only 4 and 5 star reviews from students because I speak very clear, American English.
I can also speak N4 level of Japanese, so if you're a Japanese student especially, I am confident we can make conversation together!!

Teaching Specialty:
I wrote many research papers while working at a lab in America, so I'm comfortable with academic English!
I worked in a research lab in America and I passed a logic-based exam for medical school, so I can teach you how to master English logic/analysis!
I have taught both Business Proposal and Presentation lessons to students. We can practice until you feel confident!
In Japan, I have taught 200+ kids at my conversation school. My specialty was Elementary School age and Junior High School.
Every week since 2022, I taught a news-article centered class. We often discussed The Japan Times, The New York Times, and online articles.
I have taught free conversation (英会話) for two years in Japan.
I have taught lessons preparing for the interviews in Eiken Grade 3 to Grade 1. I can help you prepare for the speaking test!
I use a lot of social media and read news articles weekly, so I know the latest trends in English speaking.
I have taught specialized pronunciation classes to both kids and adults, perfecting "R" vs. "L" sounds and "B" vs. "V" sounds, for example. Pronunciation really helps listening. It's a good option if you struggle to listen.
