Introduction:

Free flowing conversation

Hello, my name is Rynette and I am a native English speaker from Manchester in the North West of England. I am enthusiastic, friendly and approachable and I am keen to help you improve your English language abilities. Do not worry if you are nervous about speaking English, we will have lots of interesting conversations and I will help you feel more confident.

I specialise in one-to-one tutoring in the areas of Multimedia (filmmaking, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro) and English. I have taught both children and adults and can adapt my teaching style to suit any age.

I am a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist. This means that I have a growing knowledge of linguistics and phonology. These areas will help you with your articulation, pronunciation and grammar, which will be ideal for you as you learn to be more confident with your English. I am passionate about interacting with people and working with them one-to-one to improve their speech and language abilities.

I am TEFL trained and I have worked with English children and teenagers for over 10 years, many of whom have English as their second language. I have worked in several roles with young people, as a multimedia tutor, an English and maths tutor, as well as providing essential life skills and employment enhancing opportunities, such as interview skills and public speaking. I also have experience working around the world with young people and have taught English in an orphanage in Peru and assisted with speech and language therapy in Belize.

I am also a freelance filmmaker and have lots of knowledge in this area. I will be happy to help you learn more about this if this is a subject that is of interest to you.

I look forward to speaking with you!

Teaching Specialty:

Business Skills & Knowledge › By Industry

If you are interested in learning English terms that are specific to the film and TV industry I can help you. I have a background in film and TV production and have tutored a lot of people in this area.

English Basics › Vocabulary / Useful Phrases

As I am also a language learner, I know how important it is to have knowledge of useful phrases that you can use to communicate. I have a lot of knowledge of English vocabulary and can help you learn to use key words or phrases that you may need for work or for travel.

English Basics › Pronunciation / Phonics

I can help you to understand that there are many different ways of pronouncing words in the English language (more are acceptable than you may think)! I understand that your native language may not use phonics as a way of learning language so we can work together so that you can understand how to link sounds with letters to achieve correct pronunciation.

Everyday English › Free Conversation

I believe that free flowing conversation is the best way to refine your English language skills. I have many different interesting topics that I can discuss with you and will be happy to learn about you and your life. Even if you are shy and nervous or you are unsure of what to speak about, I can definitely think of things that we can talk about.
