I am an Online ESL teacher helping non-native speakers.
Hello, my name is Scott DeRagon. I am an online ESL teacher. I have been teaching online now for over a year and have acquired a number of regular students. I have a TEFL certificate and have been teaching English for over 6 years now. I was a teacher for the Nelson County school system in Virginia U.S.A. assisting homebound students for over four years. In addition, I was hired to be a home school tutor for a year teaching a young boy various subjects in the K12 online program. My teaching style is relaxed but progressive. I try to tailor the lessons to the student's individual needs. I am a native English speaker who was born and raised in the US. I have lived in several states across the country, so I am familiar with many dialects and accents that are spoken by American citizens. I look forward to helping you reach your English-speaking goals.
Teaching Specialty:
I have several regular students right now that I am assisting to drop their accents when speaking English to sound more like a native speaker.
I have been able to use specific exercises with my students to help them improve their pronunciation depending upon where they are from.
I am skilled in helping students to use correct grammar when speaking and writing.
