Introduction:

Teaching young learners and teaching pronunciation and conversation.

Hi, my name is Tina. I live Brighton in the UK. Brighton is a seaside town and so I like to swim in the sea in the summertime. I taught English for 5 years and have taught in Japan and China. I have a CELTA qualification and a 35 hour certificate to teach young learners. I studied Psychology at university. I enjoy teaching pronunciation, conversational English and can also help with grammar, vocabulary and writing skills. I enjoy meeting people from other cultures and nationalities. I think that it is important to speak to native English speakers when learning English as this helps with confidence. It is good to make mistakes as we learn from mistakes! I am very much looking forward to helping students with their English and getting to know them.

Teaching Specialty:

Everyday English › Free Conversation

I can choose the topic from magazines or newspapers or let the student choose the topic of their interest.

English Basics › Pronunciation / Phonics

I can use the phonemic chart to show the student or I can model the pronunciation and get them to repeat. I can explain where the sound is coming from in the mouth.

English Basics › General

I am happy to be lead by the students and their needs. I can easily find resources for the students to help with general grammar, vocabulary and conversational skills as well as reading and writing if they would like.
