Teaching English to aspiring business professionals and those excited to learn.
Hello and welcome! My name is Daniel and I am looking forward to teaching you English. I am originally from Boulder, Colorado, where I attended the University of Colorado to study Philosophy and Business. With my educational background I can help you to write a paper, study a variety of subjects, or prepare for a test. I currently live in the "City of eternal spring" Medellin, Colombia where I teach English, study Spanish, and write. I love it here, most Colombians are very friendly, and I am slowly learning to dance Salsa and Tango. Before moving to Colombia I worked as a manager for a small but successful bakery in Colorado. As a result I would be happy to help you to write a resume, go through an interview process, or understand the workings of small businesses in the United States. I also love to simply sit and talk about food. In my life I have also lived in Bellingham, Washington, and Paris, France, if you'd like to know more about world travel or just talk about travel in general I have lots to say, and would like to hear where you've been.
I have worked with students of many ages, ranging from 6 to 60, and am happy to teach anyone who is excited to learn. I have teaching materials prepared including fun weekly exercises, grammar worksheets, dialogues, videos and articles. If you'd like to learn more about businesses in the United States, the SkimaTalk courses are an excellent place to start, and I have enjoyed working through many of them with my students so far. I am here for you and can easily tailor any session to your personal needs and skill level. See you soon!
Essays can be complex, allow me to help you with vocabulary, structure, and grammar as you work to get your ideas onto paper.
My educational background in Philosophy and Business has given me the vocabulary and tools to discuss things logically and analytically. In English there are certain terms and phrases which will help you to engage in this type of work that could be essential to accomplishing your goals as a speaker.
In my teaching I like to utilize a lot of role play to inspire you to create answers in a quick, concise manner in real time.
Going through interviews is a nerve racking process, being prepared is the best way to make sure you come out looking like a pro. My experience with interviewing potential employees at a small business can help you to achieve your goals in the interview process.
As a writer I have authored pieces that range from technical and grant writing to promotional material and social media content.
One aspect of SkimaTalk that I find most helpful is being able to help students through certain situations that may arise in life where using English is necessary. I have role play dialogues ready to help guide you through finding an apartment, talking with colleagues, or participating in academic discourse.
I'm here to discuss anything and everything with you. I am particularly well versed in cooking, music and sports.
Do you need to write an email? How about an essay? Need help starting you're own blog? I can help with that!
My experience working as a manager of a business can help you to write a resume, go through the interview proccess, or ask any questions you may have about businesses in the United States.
I am here to help with any of you're English language needs, we can work on grammar, pronunciation, or just have a nice chat.
