Introduction:

English Conversation (all levels), Business English, Public Speaking, Test Preparation

Hello! My name is Karen, and I am a TESOL/TEFL certified English teacher from the United States. I have been teaching English for over nine years to students of all ages in Japan, Vietnam, China, and the US. Currently, I live in Portugal, but I have lived all over Asia, Europe, and North America.

My first experience with teaching English was in the JET Program in Nagoya, Japan. I taught hundreds of students at three different high schools, and I learned a lot from them as well. It was an amazing experience that really taught me how much I love teaching. In fact, one of the greatest compliments I ever received was from a professor who told me that I was "a born teacher."

My classes are friendly and fun, but I also make sure to focus on correct grammar, clear pronunciation, and vocabulary building. I want to give you the tools necessary to increase your English ability and succeed in reaching your goals. I'm looking forward to seeing you in the classroom!
