I specialise in teaching through relaxed conversation
Hi,
If you choose to work with me I will help you learn English through informal, relaxed conversation. Whereas other tutors might make you feel like you're in a classroom, I think the best way to learn a language is to learn to speak it as informally as you would speak your own language. I'm eager to hear what you're interested in, so that we can discuss the topics you want to. These topics could be anything from sport, to politics, to films, to literature - it's up to you.
Of course, learning a language isn't just a matter of trying to speak it until you're fluent - you also need someone to tell you the rules of the language you have to follow. The way I'll make sure you learn these rules is by reminding you of them while we talk - that way, you get to have a relaxed conversation and learn the rules at the same time.
One way in which I make sure to provide you with the best learning experience I can is by speaking slowly, and clearly, and repeating key ideas. I also use a lot of body language to convey my meaning.
I look forward to hearing from you!
All the best,
Ben
先生の得意分野:
One way I teach advanced learners is by asking them to read an article on a particular topic, and then discussing it with them. This not only exposes them to specialist vocabulary but also trains their ability to reason and argue in English
When teaching young kids, I use a method called total physical response. This involves using my body language as much as possible to convey my meaning. I also make sure to speak slowly and clearly, repeating key words several times.
Small talk is one of the most important parts of language learning. The way I teach it is by starting of every lesson with a few minutes of small talk, about how the day has gone.
The interview I did to get into Oxford is very similar to the one to get into Cambridge. Therefore I know that the best way to prepare a student for this interview is just to ask them open-ended questions about their subject, which aren't intended to elicit one particular answer, but rather to lead the student to think about their subject in a new way.
The way I teach my students how to write better is by going through their essays with them, sentence by sentence, to make sure that their grammar is correct and their arguments are lucid.
One way I teach my advanced students how variable every day English can be is by using slang, and complex sentence structures.
My degree in English from Oxford has given me a perfect knowledge of English grammar. I make sure to correct my students' grammar, without breaking the flow of the conversation.
In order to teach my students a clear English accent, I make sure to speak clearly myself, and I also correct my students when their accents are too thick.

その他
Between January and April this year, I volunteered for the Humanitarian Support Agency, a charity which provides English lessons, clothing, and tea and coffee to residents of Kara Tepe refugee camp, in Greece. In order to do this work I had to negotiate a language barrier between me and the residents, most of whom spoke only Arabic or Farsi. I managed to do so by expressing myself through body language and intonation, and it was very satisfying to see how the residents I spoke to improved their English across the time I was there.
教育専門職
Currently, I teach English online through Oxford Exclusif, an elite tutoring agency which employs only Oxford graduates like myself. Given the company's prestige, and the fact that clients pay £60 an hour, I have to ensure that I provide them the best service I can, tailoring my lesson plans to each individual student to help them find their own way to improve.
