Let's practice English without stress!
Hello, my name is Joey, and I'm from Dayton, Ohio, USA. I am an English teacher with an MA TESOL (TEFL-Q) from the University of Brighton, UK, and a CELTA teaching qualification from Teaching House Boston, USA.
I have over 11 years of teaching experience in several countries: four years in Russia, one year in the country of Georgia, one year in Germany, and one year in the United Kingdom. I have also been teaching online since 2014, including lessons on SkimaTalk and in an online English school.
My students are adults of all levels, and my lessons are designed around your individual needs, goals, and interests. My lessons tend to focus on practical and conversational English, business English, or test preparation, including IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, as well as corporate assessments such as GBC (by Berlitz) and GCAS (by Eiken). I also help students prepare for interviews for new jobs or university programs, including MBA and other graduate applications.
I greatly enjoy teaching and interacting with people from different countries and cultures. Helping students achieve their goals while building great relationships is my main motivation in teaching English. I look forward to meeting you!

Lessons at Language Link (Orenburg, Russia) were conducted to all ages and levels with the majority being adult classes. There were consistent in-company lessons as well held in general and business English with focuses on English for special purposes in IT and airline employee practices.

My first lesson at SkimaTalk was in February of 2014! I've given lessons here continuously since then, though with variable frequency. The vast majority of my students here are/have been Japanese working professionals with many different motivations towards improving their English language skills.

The school utilized a blended learning curriculum which involved detailed student progress monitoring and methodical paths towards student success. I regularly led in-company lessons with varying focuses in English for special purposes. I also underwent individual training for the school's IELTS courses.

At ProCredit Bank (Tbilisi, Georgia) I was responsible for designing and conducting the bank's intensive language course with the goal of advancing all employees' English-speaking levels to a minimum of B1. Frequent testing and monitoring of progress took place while working closely with the HR department. Students attended 4-week courses with me which included 160 hours of in-class study with general and business English focuses.

Students at St Giles (Brighton, UK) were aged 16+ with most being adults. They usually resided in the UK temporarily and undertook intensive language courses with varied focuses. The majority of my lessons were IELTS-focused followed by general English. There was a major emphasis on regular continued professional development with a substantial pool of experienced staff working together daily.

TEF is an online school based in New Zealand which provides English language lessons mainly to large, international consulting firms for their employees in Japan and other countries. All lessons are online, often with TEF-created materials with a wide variety of professional English focuses. A large portion of the lessons are dedicated to the General Business Communication (GBC) test and TOEIC preparation.
