Everyday English Free Conversation is the perfect time to pick a topic of interest to the student and chat about that - correcting along the way.
At the intermediate level of Everyday English I like to do a combination of Free Conversation and reading of news articles with my students.
Vocabulary is so important. I like to create a vocabulary for my students - for example a vocabulary of words and phrases that have to do with Human Resources or Entrpreneuship.
So much English can be learned through reading and discussing - newspaper articles are great for this.
I love teaching kids - they are so open to learning. For children younger than ten I usually let them pick the day's topic - over ten I suggest the SkimaTalk lessons.
I have found having my students read out loud from news articles helps with accent reduction.
I search the internet for interesting articles for my students to read aloud. This gives them new vocabualry and new words to learn to pronounce.
