Hello, my name is Teacher Brandon. I live in the state of Georgia in the USA. I have a bachelor’s degree in Religion from Luther Rice University and a 120 hour TESOL certificate. I am a Pastor at a local church and teach Bible to many adult learners every week. I have also taught over 5,000 English classes over the last 4 years helping hundreds of students to speak English. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching students on different levels of English learning, from a beginner learning the alphabet to advanced students who are fluent in English. I especially enjoy assisting students in their ability to free talk, improving their conversational English. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. Based on the level of each student we may take some time during the lesson to learn vocabulary that will assist the student with understanding the language.
There are many things in the English language that are slang and are not meant to be taken literally. When these phrases come up we will seek to define their meanings and learn phrases that may assist the student in his or her context in life.
I intently listen to the student and correct any mispronunciations that may be heard. Many mispronunciations occur from improper tongue and/or lip placement and only take a little practice to make the proper sounds.
Learning the skill of conversation and how to be an active participant who knows not only how to answer questions that are asked but also how to ask questions so that the conversation is not one sided.
Based from the student's prior knowledge we will advance skills which are necessary to increase English fluency. These may include but are not limited to: reading English texts (blog, newspaper, book excerpt), learning new vocabulary, covering rules of grammar and phonetics, practicing reading comprehension, learning how to actively participate in conversation.
