I help students improve their fluency, become more confident, and sound more native.
My name is Rachel and I'm from Los Angeles, United States. I love travel, learning about other cultures, and trying different kinds of chocolate!
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and am TEFL certified through i-to-i. I have experience tutoring one-on-one and teaching group classes in various settings and subjects.
I bring a variety of methods to the classroom, including online and interactive resources, authentic materials, and traditional coursework, all based on your needs.
During the first lesson, I will ask you about your goals and plan a program based on what you want to accomplish and how much time you have to study with me.
Book a trial lesson with me so we can discuss your goals and how I can help you reach them!
If you are comfortable, I love to use role-play in the classroom since it gives you a chance to practice specific conversations and situations. It can also be fun! I may simply assign roles to each of us or use pre-written scripts to make it easier.
If there are specific situations where you need to use English, talk to me! I can help with travel, ordering at restaurants, casual small talk, business interviews, and much more! The materials I use will depend on the situation, but I prefer to use authentic materials, such as actual restaurant menus, news clips, YouTube videos, etc.
I can help you with interviews, writing emails, phone conversations, presentations, specific vocabulary, business travel, etc. I use online resources and can also use your business website and any materials you bring to class.
I am a native English speaker and love to talk! We can talk about anything that interests you. I may also authentic materials and clips from tv shows such as Friends, which uses a lot of native-level expressions and language.
