Hello, I'm an American English as a Foreign Language teacher with a wealth of experience teaching students in their home countries, in the U.S. and U.K. I love people, especially getting to know what they value and find important and what motivates them! I am a professional but I enjoy a friendly relationship with my students. My favorite part of being a teacher is the "Aha!" moment a student has when they learn something new.

In the 10+ years I have been teaching in places such as Vietnam, Russia, Japan and Tanzania, my students have been all ages, from children to professional adults. I have not only taught English but I have also trained teachers using interactive methods in the classroom and I have written and developed curriculum materials. This experience makes me confident and able to quickly adapt to students' needs.

I have two ideal students: one has a fixed goal in mind, either preparing for an international exam or a work presentation; the other wants to learn for the fun of it and wants to build relationships with other English-speakers. Students who are motivated, for whatever reason, are the most fun to work with and can see results!

My knowledge and experience makes me a capable professional and my warm, friendly personality means I work well with students from all backgrounds and really value the relationships we build.
