Hello!! Are you looking for a talented and friendly English teacher? My name is Seth, and I am originally from New York City. I am CELTA trained and have over 8 years experience working in Latin America as a professional ESL teacher, and currently live in Colombia where I have worked at the university level for the last 4 years. I teach General English, and also have broad experience with TOEFL and IELTS Exam Tutoring, Resumé/CV and other document editing, pronunciation coaching, conversation practice and interview preparation. Earlier in my career I worked in digital design and programming, so I am particularly versed in the language of IT.
Over the years, I have worked with students at all levels (A1-C2), of all different ages and from different backgrounds. I am currently studying to improve my Spanish (B2) and beginning to learn Portuguese (A1), so I understand the difficulties and frustrations of, not only learning a new language, but also finding the time in a busy schedule to study. I am confident that you will benefit from my knowledge, experience, efficiency and professionalism.
I have a deep love for languages and teaching, and will happily target our classes to your particular preferences and requirements. I enjoy the process of aiding students as they gain mastery over the English language and feel personal satisfaction when I see them gain confidence and skill in its use. This course is for those who want their business or academic writing to really shine. I will help you learn to write effectively, taking into account the context and level of formality using appropriate and persuasive language. We will look at standard expressions (both business and academic depending on your needs) and best practices, and together, we will hone your writing skills until you feel confident in your ability to convey your ideas effectively in the manner you intend. ❍ Business Writing (Emails, reports & general correspondence) ❍ Presentations (including public speaking if desired) ❍ Thesis papers and other academic writing ❍ For other types of writing, please inquire.
