Teacher of English as a foreign language
Hello, I'm Stella!
I love travelling and move around but I'm currently living in the South of Englan. I taught English in Tokyo, Japan.
I became an EFL teacher because I enjoy talking to and helping others. I also love travelling and have an interest in culture. I studied Sociology at university so I am very interested in society and language.
I gained my CELTA qualification last year so have an excellent knowledge of English grammar. I am happy to teach either a structured lesson or you can tell me something specific and we can do that. I think that free conversation is a great way to increase your English ability. It will help you to speak more fluently as well as enhancing listening and pronunciation skills. I enjoy teaching everyday language like slangs and idioms - they are the best way to sound like a native!
I am looking forward to getting to know you!
先生の得意分野:
Depending on the level of the student, conversation with a native English speaker is a fantastic way to gain confidence and fluency in the language. As well as this, it is an excellent way to improve listening skills. I am very happy to discuss interesting topics which I feel are relevent to the student. By discussing English language and culture we can explore areas like 'sayings' (eg. slang and idioms).
A benefit of learning English from a native English speaker is the attention to pronunciation, phonics, accent reduction and general fluency. I will teach the relevent sounds and then we will put them into practice.
Learning the basics are very important to improving English levels. My lessons will provide the resources needed for the four elements - grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and fluency. I am happy to respond to the students' specifc needs or give more general lessons.
