Hello, my name is Grace and I’m from Dublin, in Ireland.
I graduated from University College Dublin in 2012 with a degree in Sociology, Linguistics and Psychology.
In Summer 2011, I trained as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher in France and spent last summer teaching English to teenagers in a language school in Dublin, before moving to Paris to teach English in a bilingual school, as well as working as a private English tutor.
At the moment, I’m trying to improve my French so I can completely understand the difficulties faced when trying to achieve fluency in another language. From my own experience, I can say that speaking the language at every possible opportunity is one of the best ways to see improvements and to increase confidence.
One of the things that I love about teaching English is that it gives me a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world, so I’m really looking forward to speaking with you and helping you with your English, in any way that I can! :) I have experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced and I'm happy to tailor our lessons to meet your language goals. Our lessons will focus on the aspects of English that are most important to you.

Sometimes small-talk can be difficult, even in your first language. I know from experience that making small talk in a foreign language can seem daunting but together we can work on some key expressions and vocabulary for the main topics that may come up in conversation.
Do certain situations in English make you feel nervous, even if you feel comfortable having a conversation? Together we can work on phrases and vocabulary and role-play potentially difficult situations, for example making a complaint in a restaurant, so that you can feel more confident and prepared.
I have taught English to children from a few months old to high school students. Each summer, I teach English to 8-18 year olds in a summer language school in my former university. I am very comfortable working with young people and finding ways to adapt lessons to keep them motivated and having fun while they learn.
I have several years of experience teaching conversational English and helping students to feel more confident.
