Enthusiastic and welcoming ESL teacher
Hello and welcome!
My name is Julliette but you can call me Julz! I live in the beautiful city of Durban, South Africa.
I'd describe myself as an enthusiastic individual! I have a natural passion for teaching, and my teaching style as a facilitator is to encourage students to problem solve in motivated and assisted environments.
I do a needs assessment to grasp where you are and what you want to improve on and adjust my lessons based on your needs and interests!
I like to make class exciting and impressionable as I believe that's when students learn the most.
I mainly make use of ESL discussions and worksheets(if preferred) that are tailored to your personal level of English!
I use conversational topics that are common in an everyday situation.
I have my own resources being, phonics flashcards to help with pronunciation and allow learners to see what they are pronouncing, I do phonics excersises such as modeling (I do, we do, you do).
I use my own resources because it's everyday English(advanced) I would use a situation at the airport where the learner might encounter a language barrier as well as a social barrier so to practice checking in the luggage and how to approach the worker in an appropriate manner. Another example, the individual might have a business meeting and is not familiar with certain terms I'm there to help the them place their word's in context and convey what they are trying to explain! The excersises I would use will be real life situations the individual might find themselves in.
I have my own resources (excersises such as; fill in the missing words, match up words, and crossword puzzles.
