Hello! My name is Kenosha and I am an art teacher turned English teacher from Arizona. I recently relocated to Mexico City to improve my Spanish and continue my TEFL career. I am excited to take on new English language students both in person and online. I have over 2 years of experience teaching students from the age of 5 up through adults, and enjoy teaching all levels of English language proficiency. My expertise lies in teaching adults from the emerging literacy level up through intermediate proficiency. I have worked with students from Mexico, Thailand, Haiti, Camaroon, China, Bangladesh, and El Salvador; I love being able to work with and get to know so many different kinds of people! As a teacher, I prioritize getting to know my students and their language learning goals so I can tailor my classes to suit their interests and meet their specific needs. I believe that it is important for a teacher to cultivate a welcoming classroom environment in order to support the deepest learning. I believe the best way to learn is to make mistakes and use the English language as much as possible! To this end, while I do teach grammar and vocabulary in every lesson, my lessons center around English conversation and/or writing. I am also available to help students study for the various English language proficiency tests. I wrote curriculum to support student learning and creativity in drawing, painting, ceramics, fibers, collage, and responding critically to artwork. I wrote 16 unique art lesson plans per week for 350 students, KG-8th grade.
