소개:
35 Years of International Business Experience. 13 Years were spent in Japan.
INTRODUCTION:
Hello, my name is Mac White. I am an English teacher at SkimaTalk and have been a private English tutor for the past 26 years. Throughout my career, I have exclusively taught Japanese students. After high school, I studied Japanese language and history in Japan. In the U.S., I graduated with a degree in Asian Studies and Japanese Language, and later received a graduate degree in International Relations (Kokusai Boeki), focusing on global trade and business.
For 13 years, I worked as a market researcher and consultant in Japan, spending about 40% of my time speaking Japanese. Afterward, I consulted for Japanese and American companies in other parts of Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. This international experience has given me valuable insights into business practices and cultural differences, which greatly influence how I teach English.
As an English teacher on SkimaTalk, I focus on improving students' speaking skills. There are two main types of English conversation: everyday conversation and standard spoken English. I teach both to help you communicate clearly in any situation.
My goal is to make your speaking skills as strong as—if not stronger than—your reading skills. Many students can read English well but feel nervous speaking. I help you by practicing real-life situations, like ordering food, chatting with friends, or speaking at work.
For beginners, don’t worry! We’ll start with grammar review, correcting pronunciation, and practicing basic conversations. I’ll guide you every step of the way to help you build confidence in speaking.
Teaching Specialty:
Even in the Business departments of Japanese universities business English education empathizes grammar and written English, not spoken conversational business English. As a consequence, Japanese business people are quite good at reading and writing business English but lack the skills in speaking business English. Before Japanese business people can become good In spoken business English they must have skills in the basic spoken conversational English. Now, the good news is that there are so many very good textbooks for business conversational English in book stores in Japan.
We could tackle topic related to your business or any topic you would like to talk. We also could focus on learning idioms and slang in order to understand news, watch movies, communicate properly and etc.
I can provide lessons from Basic to Advance levels of English from grammar, speech, phonics, slangs, idioms or any other English topics.
